Job Summary

The Office of the CRO at SolarWinds is the operating nerve center for a global revenue organization. As a small, high-leverage team of five, we translate the CRO’s priorities into governed programs, operating rhythms, and cross-functional execution so GTM teams can scale with clarity and speed. This role is the connective tissue that makes that happen.
This is not a typical program management role. You’ll operate across budget planning, workforce design, strategic communications, and cross-functional alignment with Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Marketing, and Product—with direct exposure to the CRO and senior leadership team. You’ll own the operating cadence, not just participate in it.

If you want five years of scope in two years, with a front-row seat to how a public SaaS company runs its revenue organization, this is the role.

Responsibilities

  • STRATEGY & PLANNING
    • Revenue and departmental budget planning— partner with FP&A on model prep, scenario analysis, and the documentation that supports executive budget decisions.
    • Headcount planning and workforce design— maintain models and trackers, prepare trade-off analyses for leadership review.
    • GTM job architecture and org design— support structural decisions with analysis, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with HR and Compensation.
  • PROGRAM EXECUTION
    • CRO operating cadence— design and run staff meetings, QBRs, planning cycles, and leadership summits; own agendas, prep materials, decision frameworks, and follow-through.
    • Strategic programs— support cross-functional transformation initiatives with RAID logs, workstream tracking, and executive reporting, ramping to full ownership over time.
    • GTM Kick-off and annual planning events— steer content priorities and narrative; coordinate logistics and cross-functional inputs.
    • Champions Club and Executive Sponsor Program— manage eligibility, tracking, and programmatic follow-ups.
    • RFx program governance— own playbook, templates, and scorecards for competitive response.
  • COMMUNICATIONS & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL ALIGNMENT
    • CRO-level communications— draft, format, and manage departmental messaging on behalf of the CRO; own voice, tone, and channel strategy for internal GTM communications.
    • Cross-functional liaison— serve as the primary interface between the CRO org and IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing Ops, and Product; prep meeting briefs, track actions, drive follow-through.
    • Competitive intelligence coordination— synthesize field insights that inform GTM positioning.
  • AI-AUGMENTED OPERATIONS
  • Use AI tools (Glean, Claude Cowork, and other internal platforms) as a force multiplier across every workstream—from drafting communications and building scenario models to automating status reporting and meeting prep.
  • Identify and implement new AI workflows that reduce manual effort and increase output quality across the CRO org.
  • You won’t just use AI—you’ll help define how the GTM organization adopts it.

Qualifications

Required
• MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
• 2–3 years of post-MBA experience in management consulting, GTM strategy/operations, revenue operations, or a chief of staff / business operations role at a B2B SaaS company.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across strategy and execution simultaneously—you toggle between a budget model and a meeting agenda without dropping either.
• Strong analytical skills—comfortable building financial models, workforce scenarios, and executive-ready analysis in Excel/Sheets and BI tools.
• Exceptional written communication—you can draft a CRO-level all-hands message, a board prep narrative, and a program scorecard with equal fluency.
• Fluency with AI productivity tools—you actively use LLMs, AI assistants, or automation tools in your current workflow, not as a novelty but as a daily operating layer.
• Cross-functional influence—you’ve built relationships and driven outcomes across functions (sales, finance, HR, product, IT) without direct authority.
• High ownership, low ego—you’ll handle a vendor invoice and a board prep doc in the same afternoon.

Preferred

• Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams/365, Asana, Slack.
• Exposure to SaaS commercial models (ARR, bookings, renewal/expansion motions).
• Prior CoS, BizOps, or “office of the [executive]” experience.
• Familiarity with revenue enablement, partner programs, or solutions engineering functions.

Why SolarWinds

• Scope. You’ll touch budget, headcount, strategic programs, executive comms, and cross-functional alignment—a portfolio most people don’t see until Director level.
• Access. Weekly interaction with the CRO and senior leadership team. Your work directly shapes how leadership makes decisions.
• Growth. This is a development role with clear pathways into senior strategy, enablement leadership, and general management.
• AI-forward. We’re building an AI-augmented GTM operating model. You’ll be at the center of defining what that looks like, not just adopting someone else’s playbook.
