Role Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team at SolarWinds. This role requires solid software engineering fundamentals, the ability to independently deliver well-scoped features, and a collaborative approach to building reliable, scalable, and secure software. The team is responsible for developing and improving foundational platform capabilities that support product innovation and engineering excellence across SolarWinds.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and services.
Deliver well-scoped features, enhancements, and bug fixes with high quality and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices across the team.
Write and maintain unit tests and automated tests to support stable releases.
Troubleshoot defects and production issues and implement durable fixes.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Qualifications

3+ years of software engineering experience through full-time work, internships, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or similar.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
Experience with version control, debugging, testing, and modern software development practices.
Familiarity with APIs, databases, and distributed application fundamentals.
Ability to break down tasks, estimate work, and deliver quality code with limited supervision.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
