Senior Network Engineer

We work in a hybrid mode 3+2, with a minimum of 3 days at the office (with mandatory Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and a maximum of 2 days at the home office.

The location of our office is Holandská 873/6, Brno – Štýřice, 639 00.

We employ only via an employment contract – full-time employment (HPP).

The Role

SolarWinds is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to lead the evolution of our global corporate and engineering network. As we shift toward a cloud-first, “work-from-anywhere” architecture, you will be the primary architect and operator of our Cato SASE platform. You will bridge the gap between our traditional on-premise datacenters and our high-performance AWS/Azure/GCP engineering environments, ensuring that our developers have secure, low-latency access to the tools they need to build world-class monitoring software.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with world-class experts & Modernize: Participate on a global deployment and optimization of Cato SASE (SD-WAN & Security) to connect global offices, private cloud datacenters, and remote users.
• Hybrid Cloud Networking: Design and manage high-availability connectivity between on-prem and cloud networks using Cato.
• Security Integration: Collaborate with the InfoSec team to implement ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), CASB, and FWaaS policies within the SASE stack.
• Global UC Support: Optimize the network for Unified Communications (VoIP/Video) across global locations to ensure crystal-clear collaboration with primary focus on the Zoom platform.
• Infrastructure as Code: Move away from manual CLI configuration by leveraging Terraform or similar tools to manage network policy and cloud networking components.
• Escalation point: Serve as a Tier 3 expert for complex routing, switching, and connectivity issues affecting our users and infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Requirements

• SASE/SD-WAN Expert: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Cato Networks (preferred) or direct competitors (Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Versa).
• Cloud Networking: Deep understanding of AWS Networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Security Groups) or Azure Networking (VNet, Virtual WAN).
• Routing & Switching: Expert-level knowledge of L2 and L3 protocols in a hybrid environment.
• Security Mindset: Strong experience with network security and implementing best practices using Next-Gen Firewalls (NGFW), IPsec/TLS tunnels, Identity-based access control, vulnerability management and others.

Professional Experience

• Seniority: 4+ years in Network Engineering, with at least 2 years focused on cloud-native or software-defined networking.
• Enterprise Scale: Experience managing a global network with 10+ locations and a large remote workforce.

Optional (Bonus) Skills

• The SolarWinds Stack: Familiarity with SolarWinds monitoring products.
• Automation: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Python for automating network deployments.
• Certifications: Cato Networks SASE Expert, CCNP/CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking or similar.
