This position is part of our Global Internship Program, allowing new talents to show themselves, improve, and thrive with our support. It is an on-site paid internship at our site in Brno in The Czech Republic. The length is limited – for 3 months, for full-time employment – 40 hours per week. The start of the internship is the 1st of July 2026 and the end of the internship is the 30th of September 2026. This internship cannot be done remotely. 

 We work in hybrid mode 3+2, a minimum of 3 days at the office with mandatory Tuesdays and Wednesdays and a maximum of 2 days at the home office per week. 

The location of our office is Holandská 873/6, Brno – Štýřice, 639 00. 

We employ only via employment contract – FTE (HPP).

 

We’re looking for a User Experience Intern (UX Design, OR UX Research, OR Hyrbid) to join our design team and play a role in shaping the user-centric design of our SolarWinds platform experience. You’ll collaborate with other researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers across multiple product lines—including SolarWinds Observability Platform, IT Service Management (ITSM), and Hybrid Cloud Observability—to help shape the future of our user interfaces and design systems.

This internship is an opportunity to learn how design and research impact complex, data-rich environments while contributing to real projects used by thousands of IT professionals around the world.

 

What You’ll Do

 

If you’re a UX Researcher

  • Support UX researchers in creating surveys, scripts for testing, recruiting, analysis, and presentation of findings.
  • Participate in design reviews and help refine user journeys across products.
  • Advocate for a user-centric approach, ensuring that user needs and behaviors are at the forefront of decision-making processes.
  • Work collaboratively with design teams to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations and improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure a unified understanding of user needs and align user experience goals with business objectives

 

If you’re a UX Designer

  • Support product designers in creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs.
  • Participate in design reviews and help refine user journeys across products.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate user needs and technical requirements into design solutions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the SolarWinds design system and component library.
  • Assist in user research, usability testing, and documentation of design decisions.

 

If you’re Hybrid (have experience in both research and design), you will do a combination of both roles.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
  • For Design
    • A portfolio (academic or personal projects welcome) demonstrating understanding of interaction, visual design, or product thinking.
    • Curiosity about technical or data-driven products and eagerness to learn how design impacts complex systems.
    • Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD is a plus
    • Strong collaboration skills and attention to detail.

 

  • For Research
    • A portfolio or presentation (academic or personal projects welcome) demonstrating understanding of various UX research methods and how those were used to help shape future user experiences.
    • Familiarity with research methodologies like interviews, usability testing, personas, focus groups, survey creation and design, etc.
    • Interest in data analytics.
    • Strong presentation and collaboration skills, and attention to detail.
