Data Scientist, AI/ML

We work in a hybrid mode 3+2, with a minimum of 3 days at the office (with mandatory Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and a maximum of 2 days at the home office.

The location of our office is Holandská 873/6, Brno – Štýřice, 639 00.

We employ only via an employment contract – full-time employment (HPP).

As a Data Scientist at SolarWinds, you will join a collaborative, innovative team driving business transformation through data. You’ll influence decisions by primarily delivering generative AI solutions and secondarily delivering insights with machine learning, participating in both independent analysis and team-driven projects. The role involves identifying opportunities, building and deploying models, performing thorough analyses, and communicating findings to stakeholders across the organization. You will implement solutions with RAG Systems using vector databases, embedding, and a customer search pipeline, experiment with prompt engineering and model fine-tuning, tailor solutions to specific domains, and evaluate solutions to ensure quality. In a secondary responsibility, you’ll apply advanced analytics – regression, clustering, deep learning, and NLP to drive business outcomes. Success in this position means operating with curiosity and continual learning, both independently and within cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and optimize applications that leverage large language models (LLMs) to address complex business challenges and generate value across the organization.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems using vector databases, embeddings, and custom search pipelines to improve model accuracy and precision.
• Experiment with prompt engineering and model fine-tuning, tailoring solutions to specific domains and dynamic business requirements.
• Evaluate LLM outputs for accuracy, relevance, bias, and business alignment, iteratively refining systems to ensure quality and reliability.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into production workflows, APIs, and customer-facing products, focusing on scalable, robust, and secure deployment.
• Stay current with advancements in generative AI, LLM frameworks, and ecosystem tools, applying emerging techniques to foster innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Additionally, apply advanced statistical modeling techniques to business outcomes, such as regression, time series, longitudinal and categorical analysis, survival analysis, clustering, segmentation, neural networks, deep learning, embedding, vector similarity and natural language processing.
• Conduct data wrangling and preprocessing across diverse sources—structured, semi-structured, and unstructured—to prepare data for analysis and modeling.
• Implement and maintain ML pipelines using MLops frameworks and model lifecycle management
• Monitor deployed models using rigorous statistical evaluation and assess business effectiveness through impact on KPIs and other relevant metrics.
• Function within a data science team and adhere to established processes. Collaborate with data science, business intelligence, development, engineering, data governance, and other relevant functional areas.
• Communicate effectively across teams to access data, identify crucial features, and collaborate with developers to build robust data structures.
• Independently address data-related questions and support cross-functional projects with minimal supervision.
• Present AI and data science projects in clear, actionable terms to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful, data-driven solutions. Engage regularly with stakeholders to evaluate project outcomes and cultivate relationships for new analytic opportunities.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years in data science, artificial intelligence, or business intelligence within a collaborative environment.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, ML/AI frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, MLFlow), with an emphasis on data manipulation, API integration, and machine learning workflows. Azure experience is preferred, including container apps, search indexes, and OpenAI.
• Comfortable with version control, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows using Git
• Able to build, run, and debug Docker containers, with  familiarity with container orchestration basics
• Strong analytical drive, results-oriented, and intellectually curious with a focus on immediate business impact.
• Solid knowledge of data science methodologies (regression, time series, longitudinal and categorical analysis, survival analysis, clustering, segmentation, neural networks, deep learning, NLP).
• Experienced in applying statistical concepts and methodologies while avoiding common pitfalls.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Outstanding project, organizational, and time management skills; adept at prioritizing complex assignments.
• Problem-solver in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
• Data Curious. Eager to explore data and outcomes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, RAG architectures, chatbots, front-end skills (HTML/CSS/JS) a plus
• Experience in Tableau is a plus
• Experience in Google BigQuery or Databricks is a plus
• Bachelor’s in statistics, data science, computer science, or related field; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
