Data Scientist, Machine Learning

We work in a hybrid mode 3+2, with a minimum of 3 days at the office (with mandatory Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and a maximum of 2 days at the home office.

The location of our office is Unit 1101, Building 1000, Cork (city), Munster.

We employ only via an employment contract – full-time employment.

Summary:
As a Data Scientist at SolarWinds, you will play a vital role in driving business transformation through data. You will deliver insights using machine learning and intelligence, while also exploring generative AI solutions. You will work both independently and collaboratively on projects that identify opportunities, build and deploy models, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Your work will be essential in shaping our data-driven strategies in a fast-paced, people-first environment.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out the complete life cycle of data science projects, including identifying, training, and deploying models.
• Perform detailed data analysis to uncover key trends and inform decision-making.
• Apply advanced statistical modeling techniques to business outcomes.
• Conduct data wrangling and preprocessing across diverse sources.
• Implement and maintain ML pipelines using MLops frameworks and manage model lifecycle.
• Monitor deployed models and assess business effectiveness based on outcomes.
• Support the development and maintenance of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) LLM application on Azure.
• Assist with prompt engineering and model fine-tuning for specific domains.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in data science, AI, or business intelligence.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and ML/AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with Azure, including container apps and OpenAI, is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on business impact.
• Solid knowledge of data science methodologies and statistical concepts.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights clearly.
• Proficient in Git and collaborative workflows.
• Ability to build and debug Docker containers.
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, or related field; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, RAG architectures, chatbots, and front-end skills is a plus.
• Experience in Tableau, Google Big Query, or Databricks is a plus.
