Responsibilities:

Role Mandate – Mumbai Location
Drive commercial contracting efficiency, strengthen AI-privacy governance and stakeholder education, and support compliant vendor onboarding across global procurement. Operate as the legal decision-enabler – ensuring the company signs faster, safer, and smarter.

Key Accountability Pillars

  1. Contracting & Commercial Negotiation

Skilled in negotiating and reviewing MSAs, SOWs, SaaS, Licensing, Services agreements, and other agreements, with strong expertise in key terms (like, liability, indemnity, warranties, IP, termination, and more), while building negotiation legal playbooks to speed deal closure.

Act as procurement’s legal anchor – coordinating with cross-functional business and raising legal issues with stakeholders in a timely manner.

  1. AI & Privacy Governance:

Demonstrated experience working with AI SaaS vendors for privacy, data use, and compliance risks, ensuring proper handling of all data including PII and other sensitive data by vendors and experience of and interest in responsible AI practices. Prior experience negotiating and communicating with stakeholders on data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, country specific privacy addenda, AI statements and a variety of other privacy and AI related clauses in agreements, assessing privacy and AI risks and putting in place appropriate safeguards to protect the company. Ensure compliance with GRC and IT review processes.

  1. Vendor Onboarding (One Trust)

Assist in management of One Trust process/ workflow with various other areas, including InfoSec, IT and Finance.

  1. Legal Process, Documentation & Training

Working with the wider privacy team to develop training materials to educate buyers/ internal stakeholders on procurement workflows as well as OneTrust processes, raise up key vendor side privacy and AI issues, and provide ongoing guidance through the procurement lifecycle using the appropriate tools, while maintaining a structured CLMS-based contract repository for active agreements, for renewals, to ensure visibility, accuracy, and audit readiness. Identify key privacy risks and trends across vendors, and work with the wider privacy team to develop vendor documentation to address those. Horizon scanning to monitor privacy and AI laws and regulations which may impact our vendors, and work with other stakeholders to develop appropriate safeguards.

Preferred Qualification:

LL.B. in Tech and Corporate Law preferred.

  • 1–3 years in a fast paced technology, SaaS contracting or commercial legal function.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating privacy and AI contracts.
  • Clear interest in evolving privacy and AI laws and regulation on a global basis (candidates with LLM in tech/privacy/AI governance preferred).   
  • Business-aligned thinker with strong written and verbal negotiation skills. Clear, confident decision-maker, able to balance risk with business velocity.
  • This is a global role, so flexibility across time-zone will be expected.
