SUMMARY OF ROLE
The SolarWinds Collections Manager will lead a team to achieve high performance and enhance the customer experience while maintaining a “get-it-done” attitude with an emphasis on maximizing cash flow, reducing delinquent balances & bad debt, as well as achieving a reduction in DSO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Demonstrates strong people management skills, creates and leads a high-performance collections team, promotes career development, effectively trains, coaches, and counsels employees. • Track the execution of credit/collections operations and report regularly to senior leadership. • Knowledgeable in systems integration design, to build, synthesize, and implement technological applications that are customized to meet an organization’s needs. Together with professionals in the IT department, test and authenticate software to determine suitability before integration into the company’s main system. • Ensure the Collections team is following the SolarWinds Collection process with a focus of reducing DSO and maintaining Exceptional Customer Service.
- Work with customer service, sales, and other internal departments to uncover and resolve disputes, collect past due amounts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Recommend accounts for Legal/Agency actions, prepare and validate information, and attain proper approvals.
- Ensures coordination and control of all credit decisions and collection strategies with appropriate managers, sales organizations, and finance leaders.
- Ensures accounts receivable cash flow targets are achieved; communicates cash flow issues with the finance, sales, and leadership teams; performs cash forecasts and variance analysis.
- Drives and Reports on the achievement of performance metrics, including individual metrics, past due receivables, disputes, and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets.
- Participate and run meetings as required, including a monthly Collections review with the Sr. Manager and business segment AR reviews
- Support additional projects and tasks related to Global Revenue Operations as they arise
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
- 5+ years managing a decentralized team and building and developing a team.
- 5+ years’ credit and collections experience with a large customer base, high transaction volume and prior SaaS experience preferred
- Impeccable interpersonal communication and client-facing skills, including the ability to expertly convey information in non-technical terms with professionalism and confidence. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft application suite is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, open environment and with cross-functional teams.
- Experience using ERP/accounting systems required: NetSuite is preferred.
