Summary: Establish relationships with IT decision-makers in the federal government to identify opportunities and sell SolarWinds products and services. This role requires skillful engagement to prospect, qualify, and close business within assigned territories while educating prospective clients through effective product demonstrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with IT decision-makers within the federal government.
  • Utilize a consultative approach to manage warm calls and inbound leads for product evaluation requests, trial downloads, and current customer needs.
  • Collaborate with sales engineering to conduct both technical and non-technical online web product demonstrations.
  • Identify the best platform fit for customers and explore cross-sell and up-sell opportunities while maintaining customer rapport.
  • Strategically identify renewal, new business, channel partnership, and local market opportunities.
  • Provide superior customer service during the evaluation process, create quotes, manage new customer accounts, coordinate with channel partners, and close sales.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity and pipeline reports within Salesforce.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly sales quotas.

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of sales cadence and how to optimize its execution.
  • Experience working at a value-added reseller or distributor; channel experience is a plus.
  • Passionate about selling with an enthusiastic, self-starting attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals by phone while achieving sales quotas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to develop and manage a pipeline, providing weekly updates to forecasts.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of IT concepts to quickly absorb and apply company-administered training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in a sales environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
