The SolarWinds Public Sector team is currently looking for a Field Account Executive to support the SLED Sales Org in the West. The ideal candidate will identify, qualify, and close net new opportunities as well as build on the current install base for upgrade opportunities. This candidate will contribute individually and as a team member while executing a focused sales strategy within their territory. This candidate will have experience collaborating with SLED System Integrator Alliance Partners and Channel Partners.
This candidate will exude excellent communication skills and cognitive problem-solving skills along with the ability to be self-reliant. The ability to succeed in this role will require the candidate to work in a fast-paced environment as well as the application of advanced technical and business skills.
Your Impact:
- Develop and manage enterprise accounts within assigned territory
- Responsible for lead generation, building the relationship with prospective customers, account profiling and developing the prospective customer into a revenue generating customer
- Execute daily activities such as: prospecting, lead generation and selling of the SolarWinds portfolio to West Territory, Nevada and Canada for SLED customers
- Work with SI Alliance Partners, Channel partners, and Channel Manager to promote SolarWinds solution sales
- Embark on field engagements within strategic SLED accounts – this includes participating in on-site meetings and attending live events (Travel will be 25-50%)
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales quota
- Develop and manage pipeline, providing weekly updates to forecast
- Ensure the provision of appropriate business information for decision-making and control
- Assist in the development of existing accounts and the generation of new ones
- Negotiate contracts, up-sell, build customer rapport
- Provide appropriate sales tracking and reporting as required leveraging Salesforce and Excel
- Ability to analyze data and formulate account strategy, execute to plan
Your Experience:
- 10+ years of sales experience
- 5 + Years of direct enterprise software sales experience a must
- 5+ years of SLED sales experience a must
- Technical acumen with the ability to relate it with business value
- Proven track record of sales performance and knowledge of SLED Sales
- Comfort with an enterprise and transactional sales model
- Experience and credibility selling at the C level
- Ability to forecast, manage sales expenses
- High intellect and the capacity to multitask
- Excellent qualifying and closing skills
- Business development, prospecting skills, and ability to build strong partner relationships
Preferences:
- 8+ Years of successful business development and sales quota attainment in the SLED vertical
- Strongly prefer candidates with SLED West Territory specific experience
- Proficiency with SalesForce.com
