Job Overview:

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and inspire one or more high-performing teams of 5-10 engineers dedicated to building secure, scalable, and impactful software solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for steering the technical vision across teams, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability, and driving continuous improvement in both engineering practices and personal development. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on business objectives, ensure timely project delivery, and maintain high standards of software quality. Our teams operate within Agile and Scrum methodologies, promoting flexibility, iterative progress, and responsiveness to change.

This role reports directly to a Senior Manager or Director, providing you with a direct line to leadership and the opportunity to shape the growth of both our products and our people, driving lasting impact across the organization.

Project Overview:

SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (SWOSH) is a mature, well-established product that empowers organizations with full control over their data in on-premises environments. SWOSH delivers comprehensive observability capabilities, enabling IT teams to gain insights into applications, infrastructure, databases, networks, and user experiences within local deployments. Notably, SolarWinds serves over 300,000 customers in 190 countries, including 498 Fortune 500 companies, as well as small businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions.

SolarWinds Observability (SWO), on the other hand, is our next-generation, cloud-native platform currently in active development. SWO is designed to provide a unified view of modern, distributed IT environments, encompassing both cloud and on-premises and represents the latest advancements in observability.

As an Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee teams focused on delivering innovative, high-quality solutions for SWOSH. With the growth and evolution of our platforms, you may also take on projects within SWO, allowing you to bridge our proven on-premises technologies with cutting-edge cloud innovations.

Both SWOSH and SWO are designed with flexibility and scalability to meet the diverse demands of hybrid IT environments, including network, infrastructure, database, application, and user experience management. Our solutions integrate advanced monitoring and management features for both on-premises and cloud environments, leveraging AIOps capabilities to accelerate problem resolution and optimize performance.
