Your Role:

Are you someone who wants to grow in your career? As the Marketing Director, Public Sector, based out of our Reston, VA office, you’ll have a significant impact on the growth of our business through leading a team of marketing managers, product marketing and events to drive awareness, demand, and pipeline for North America public sector (federal, state, local, and education). We look for candidates who are competent and committed to the SolarWinds mission and display exemplary attitude.

Your Impact:

  • In this role, you will be able to drive continued growth of awareness, demand and pipeline for public sector
  • Collaborate with product marketing, marketing managers, sales, and sales engineering, to develop content for use across a variety of channels – white papers, presentations, blogs, video scripts, website content, sales enablement tools, case studies, collateral, social media postings, messaging documents, and more
  • Lead a team of marketing managers to develop and execute quarterly marketing plans for DoD, Civilian, State, Local, and Education (SLED), Healthcare, Channel, and FSIs including activities such as: email, trade shows, webinars, seminars, web merchandising on SolarWinds properties, online advertising, social media, channel programs, account-based marketing activities, and more
  • Drive public sector awareness and manage public sector PR agency relationship
  • Build strategies for public sector marketing that drive North America results, while collaborating and sharing globally with other regions
  • Work with SDR Manager and marketing managers to develop outbound SDR campaigns, and to track progress of inbound marketing lead follow up
  • Be a voice of public sector, along with sales, SE and marketing management to the SolarWinds product and corporate teams, understand the SolarWinds product’s performance in the market, and recommend shifts in vertical strategy and tactics to the team
  • Manage ongoing budget tracking and PO process
  • Work with product and the public sector teams to plan and execute vertical specific product launch activities
  • Leverage analytics to manage to track weekly, monthly, and quarterly lead generation goals, adjusting activities based on results & the needs of the sales organization
  • Support marketing of Monaltyic Services, common criteria and other certification activities along with public sector management team

Your Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 10+ years’ experience in Marketing, technology marketing and federal government experience required, SLED experience preferred, healthcare experience a plus
  • 3-5 years of people management preferred
  • The ability to work closely with both the federal and SLED teams in Reston, VA and Austin, TX and with virtual teams from other offices
  • Understanding of, and experience with, public sector go to market models, and key initiatives and emerging trends in the space
  • Strong analytical acumen and an ability to prioritize workload based on business impact
  • Working knowledge preferred of Federal certification/compliance requirements such as Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2, RMF, DISA STIGs, FedRamp, etc.
  • BS/BA degree required; MBA preferred
