Your Impact:

As a Senior Sales Account Executive, you will be responsible for selling SolarWinds products and services to government accounts within the public sector through partner channels. This includes generating new leads, collaborating with partners as needed, closing sales cycles, and building and maintaining relationships with current clients. Additionally, you will be accountable for monitoring your sales activity and reporting your progress. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT sales, with a focus on government accounts, and a proven track record of success selling through partners. Knowledge of the GEM process and RFP experience is required.

Your Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales or account management.
  • 10-15 years of experience managing sales in the government sector.
  • Expertise in selling IT infrastructure monitoring, data center services, networking products, network security products, managed services, or remote infrastructure services in the enterprise vertical to top or large accounts.
  • Strong relationships with decision makers in government accounts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with major account decision makers.
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent email writing skills and experience with cold calling and Skype.
  • Familiarity with current IT trends and initiatives in enterprise accounts, including managed services, data center services, security, software, hardware, and projects.
  • Proven ability to identify customer needs and challenges, and experience working with OEMs, vendors, partners, and IT consultants in government accounts.
  • Successful track record in government accounts, with a solid understanding of account management processes for the public sector.
  • Experience with government procurement processes, including RFPs and GEM contracts.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a fast-paced environment and across teams.
  • Prior experience in the public sector and an established commercial network is preferred.
